What makes an Episcopalian Church different?

As Episcopalians, we follow Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. We believe in the Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We strive to love God with all our hearts, minds, and strength. The love for God propels us to love our neighbors as ourselves, and respect the dignity of every person. 

The Episcopal Church is part of the worldwide Anglican Communion and traces its heritage to the beginnings of Christianity. Our liturgy retains the ancient structure and traditions handed down to us, and is celebrated in many languages throughout the world. 

We believe in amendment of life, the forgiveness of sin, and life everlasting. Lay people exercise a vital role in the governance and ministry of our church. Both men and women, including those who are married, are eligible for ordination as deacons, priests and bishops. 

Holy Communion may be received by all baptized Christians, not only members of the Episcopal Church. We uphold Biblical truth and worship with the Book of Common Prayer. All are welcome!

Our Faith is Reflected in the Apostles' Creed

 I believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting.  Amen.
